WHAT IS THE COURSE ABOUT?
Design Innovation course explores landmark works that changed the course of design. Through iconic objects, visual systems, cultural moments, and creative breakthroughs, the course examines how innovation happens: what conditions shaped these works, what conventions they challenged, and what impact they had on the evolution of design.
Rather than teaching design as a timeline of styles, the course looks at design through its turning points — the works that redefined what design could be.
By the end of the course, learners will not only know key breakthrough works in design — they will have a clearer understanding of what design innovation actually is: not novelty for its own sake, but meaningful change that shifts how design is made, understood, and experienced.
This course is based on our research for the Design Rewind series.
